REQUIREMENTS

Finland has three admission systems:

  1. Rolling or Direct
  2. Joint
  3. Separate

Academic Qualifications

1. Rolling or Direct Admissions:
  1. Year 12
  • Minimum 2.8 GPA / CTEVT Diploma 70.00% / Bachelor
  • Some universities may have a mandatory SAT requirement as well.
2. Joint Application:
  • Year 12: Minimum 2.20 GPA / CTEVT Diploma 60.00% / Bachelor
3. Separate Application:
  • Most have the same requirements as rolling or direct admissions.
4. SAT Score: A score of 1450 or higher can earn a 50% scholarship for the full duration of the degree.
5. Early Bird Scholarship: 10% to 20% – If a student accepts and pays the 1st year tuition fee within a set deadline, usually within 7 to 20 days of receiving the offer.
6. Change of Faculty:
  • Accepted under certain conditions.
7. Interviews:
  • Rolling or Direct Applicants: Rolling or Direct applicants will be scheduled online interview
  • Joint Applicants: Must pass the International UAS Exam Online and may also be required to attend an online interview.

8. Student Resident Permit Types:

  1. Type A: For Bachelors
  • The study duration is counted towards maintaining the Resident Permit factor for later Permanent Residency.
  1. Type B: Temporary Student Resident Permit
  • Tailored for Degree Diploma mostly in Hospitality Management and Business.
  • Not recommended unless packaged with a Bachelor Degree.
  • The study duration is not counted towards maintaining the Resident Permit factor for later Permanent Residency.

English Language Proficiency Requirements

For Undergraduate:

    1. IELTS: overall 6
    2. PTE: 55 overall
    3. TOEFL: Minimum overall score 80

  3. Bachelor’s degree (Transcript, Provisional Certificate, Character Certificate) attested by respective University.
  4. Passport Front Cover (E-passport), Biodata Page attested by MoFA, Tripureshwor.
  5. Verifiable Gap: Employment Letter with job duties & responsibilities listed.
  6. If married: Spouse Passport, Marriage Certificate (more than 12 months) attested by MoFA.
  7. Detailed CV of both in soft copy.
  8. IELTS TRF or PTE Login.
  9. Two Letters of Recommendation.
 

NOTE: Due to the rise in fraudulent academic documents, graduates from Nepal are requested to submit relevant board and MoFA-attested documents to A One Global Consultants at the beginning itself, and graduates from India are requested to send an Apostille document directly to the university.

STUDENT VISA

To study in Finland, international students must obtain a student visa. The process includes:

Application Fee

  1. Student Visa Fee: Euro 350.00 (approx. NPR 51,000.00).
  2. Dependent Visa Fee: Euro 450.00 (approx. Npr 63,000.00).

 

Finland Visa Update

Embassy has increased the Fund requirement of Residence Permit applicants as of 1 November 2024:

  • Main Applicant – 9,600 EURO
  • Dependant (Spouse) – 610 x 12 = 7,320 EURO
  • 1st Dep. Child – 610 x 12 = 7,320 EURO
  • 2nd Dep. Child – 480 x 12 = 5,760 EURO
  • 3rd Dep. Child – 360 x 12 = 4,320 EURO

This is applicable for the applicants filling visa on or after 1st November 2024 onwards. Those students who have received the Offer Letter are advised to pay the tuition fees and process the Visa filing before October 2024.

  5. Sponsors’ Citizenship & Sponsorship Letter.

Financial Proof

  1. Show Money: 1-year tuition fee + 1-year living expense.
  2. Living Expense: Euro 6720.00 per year (approx. Npr 10 Lakhs).

 

Sponsor Documents

  1. Income of Sponsors: Parents, in-laws, uncles, and aunts.
  2. Annual Income:
  3. Single Applicant: 18 to 20 Lakhs
  4. With Accompanying Spouse: 22 to 25 Lakhs
  5. Bank Statement: Recent 6 months’ statement.
  6. Income Source Verification: From Ward or Municipality.
  7. Tax Clearance Certificate: From Ward or Municipality.
  8. Supporting Income Documents: Recent 6 months TDS Receipt.

 

After Visa Lodgment

  1. Appointment at VFS: Schedule an appointment via email.
  2. Document Submission: Submit all required documents, and pay the application visa fee and VFS service fee.
  3. Biometric Information: Provide fingerprints and identity verification.
  4. Interview: A short interview for both students and dependents.
  5. Wait for the Outcome: Processing time is 1 to 3 months.

 

Arrival in Finland

Once the visa is approved, the Finnish Immigration Office will send a residence card to the embassy for collection. Upon arrival in Finland, students must register with the local immigration office to confirm their temporary status as international students.
